Intro to Botanical Perfumery: High Desert Summer Edition

  • Westgate Community Center 10001 De Vargas Road Southwest Albuquerque, NM, 87121 United States (map)

Step into the luminous world of natural perfume-making with our High Desert Summer edition of Introduction to Botanical Perfumery. In this engaging, hands-on workshop, you’ll craft your own custom perfume oils using pure essential oils inspired by the bright skies, sun-warmed earth, blooming gardens, and expansive beauty of summer in the high desert.

Together, we’ll explore the art of blending top, middle, and base notes — discovering how sparkling citrus, aromatic herbs, soft florals, airy resins, and warm woods come together to create balanced, long-lasting perfumes. You’ll learn how fragrance families interact and how even a small shift in drops can transform the entire character of a scent.

This session features a curated High Desert scent bar designed to evoke golden mornings, monsoon rains, herbal trails, and glowing evenings. Whether you’re new to perfumery or a devoted fragrance lover, this workshop is a celebration of creativity, sensory awareness, and connection to place.

Each attendee will create two 5 ml custom perfume oils to take home. All materials are provided, including glass roller bottles, essential oils, and guided inspiration blends to support your process. Bring a notebook if you enjoy taking notes — otherwise, just bring your curiosity and a love for summer’s radiant beauty.

Come blend your own signature scent and capture the essence of High Desert Summer.
